FLW/TBF HIGH SCHOOL FISHING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP HEADED TO LAKE MURRAY

COLUMBIA, S.C. (April 9, 2012) – FLW, in conjunction with The Bass Federation (TBF), has announced High School Fishing is headed to Lake Murray on April 15 for the High School Fishing National Championship. Five winning teams from each of the five High School Fishing Conference Championships will be competing in the National Championship for a $10,000 scholarship ($5,000 to each team member).

Anglers will take off from Park Site No. #8 (North) located at 2101 North Lake Drive in Columbia, S.C., at 7:15 a.m. Sunday. Weigh-in will be held at Carolina Stadium beginning at 4:30 p.m., pending the end of the USC baseball game. Takeoff and weigh-in are free and open to the public. Continue reading

Kentucky High School Fishing State Championship Set For May 5

MURRAY, KY (April 9, 2012) – The Bass Federation (TBF), in partnership with FLW, the Bluegrass State Games and Murray State University has announced that the 2012 Student Angler Federation (SAF) Kentucky High School Fishing State Championship will be held Saturday, May 5 on Kentucky Lake at Kenlake Marina in Hardin, KY.

The tournament is open to all Kentucky ninth, 10th, 11th and 12th grade students, including home schooled students, that are Student Angler Federation members. SAF membership cost $25 per year and includes a digital subscription to FLW Bass Fishing magazine, insurance coverage while competing in SAF events (including the option to add a school as additionally insured), an exclusive online fishing education program, discounts on Coast Guard approved boater safety courses and many other benefits. Dover Youth Fishing Series Wraps Up

Last Saturday, April 7th The Dover Youth Bass Fishing’s Tournament Series presented by Bassmafiatackle.com was held on Lake Dardanelle. We had 66 anglers participate and were one of the many activities out at Lake Dardanelle State Park. We paid special tribute to our Veterans this Easter weekend by holding our tournament in cooperation with the wounded Veterans tournament held at the lake Saturday. Team mentor Ray Scheide said “ I feel a deep sense of gratitude toward all of our veterans, especially in these times where we are reminded frequently the high price that some of them pay so that we can enjoy these simple freedoms like tournament bass fishing. Words cannot express our appreciation and I would hope that my personal feelings about them can flow to our youths to help them appreciate their opportunities also!” Continue reading
