Mississippi High School Fishing State Championship Set For May 19

PONCA CITY, Okla. (Apr. 17, 2012) – The Bass Federation (TBF), in partnership with FLW Outdoors and the Mississippi Bass Federation will host the 2012 Student Angler Federation (SAF) Mississippi High School Fishing State Championship.  The championship will be on Saturday, May 19 on the Tenn-Tom Waterway near Columbus, Miss. Launch will be out of the Stennis East Bank Lock and Dam Recreation Area located in Columbus, Miss.

The championship is a two person team event for students in grades 9-12. Registration for anglers and their “coach,” who will provide the boat they compete in, is online at HighSchoolFishing.org. Check-in begins at 5pm CST on Friday, May 18 at the Launch Ramp Pavilion located at the Stennis East Bank Lock and Dam Recreation Area in Columbus, Miss., with a mandatory rules briefing at 6pm CST. In case of inclement weather, check-in and the mandatory rules briefing will be held at the Quality Inn Columbus, which is also the host hotel. New York & Ontario High School Fishing State Championship Set For July 15

BREWERTON, N.Y. (April 10, 2012) – The Bass Federation (TBF), in partnership with FLW and the Mid-Atlantic Youth Anglers & Outdoors Program, has announced that the 2012 Student Angler Federation (SAF) New York and Ontario High School Fishing State Championships will be held Sunday, July 15 on Oneida Lake at Oneida Shores County Park in Brewerton, N.Y.

The tournament is open to all New York and Ontario ninth, 10th, 11th and 12th grade students, including home schooled students, that are Student Angler Federation members. SAF membership cost $25 per year and includes a digital subscription to FLW Bass Fishing magazine, insurance coverage while competing in SAF events (including the option to add a school as additionally insured), an exclusive online fishing education program, discounts on Coast Guard approved boater safety courses and many other benefits. MARBURY, Md.
