Utah Team Mezenen and Hausman Named State Champs

5/6/11 (Lake Powell, UT) – The Weber High Warriors high school fishing team from Clinton and Sandy, Utah, Ryan Mezenen and Seth Hausman were named the 2011 Utah High School Fishing State Champions. They caught a limit of bass that weighed 9 lbs 7 oz. Their coach/boat captain was TBF Member Scott Hausman who is a member of the Big City Bass of Utah club in the Utah Bass Federation.

The inaugural Student Angler Federation Utah High School Fishing State Championship was held at Lake Powell’s, Bull Frog Marina just outside of Lake Powell, Utah. The state championship is a two person team event for students in grades 9-12. The high school anglers and their “coach” work together to bring a five fish team limit into the weigh-in. Marble Falls Holds Club Tournament

What a fabulous day on the lake for our club!  We had 9 boats and 17 anglers out on Inks Lake. I want to once again thank all our boat captains on Saturday who so generously give of their time and resources to take our team out to compete and provide mentorship and insight as they develop their skills.

Schneidermans Named Idaho State Champions

Idaho State Champions - Alex & Asa Schneiderman

5/1/11 – CJ Strike Reservoir – Brothers Asa and Alex Schneiderman were named the 2011 Idaho High School Fishing State Champions at CJ Strike Reservoir on Sunday, May 1st. The team from Buhl, Idaho, brought in a limit of bass that weighed 4 lbs 1 oz – enough to make them state champs. The second place team, Josh Wheatley and Parker Sorg of Mountain View High School, weighed in 3 fish that weighed 3 lbs 3 oz.

The state championship is a two person team event for students in grades 9 -12, and is driven by their coach/boat captain in a boat the team must provide. Continue reading
