Tri-State High School Fishing State Championship Set for June 12 – MA, CT & RI

Ponca City, Okla. (May 18, 2011) – The Bass Federation (TBF), in partnership with FLW Outdoors, announced it will be hosting the inaugural Student Angler Federation Tri-State High School Fishing State Championship, Sunday, June 12 at Congamond Lake, Southwick, MA.  The state championship is a two person team event for students in grades 9 -12. This event will serve as the state championship for Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island, the top team from each of these three states will advance. Registration for high school anglers and their “coach,” who will provide the boat they compete in, is open online at HighSchoolFishing.org or by calling 580.765.9031. Check-in begins at 5:30pm on Saturday, June 11 at the Pavilion at Congamond Lake boat ramp.  A mandatory rules briefing will follow at 7pm. HS Team Guilliams & Pahl Win Missouri State Championship

5/14/11, Lake of the Ozarks – The Missouri High School State Bass Fishing Championship started the day with teams from across the state welcoming in a cold front that brought plenty of wind and a little rain to the Lake of the Ozarks State Park in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Teams had to battle less-than-favorable conditions for most of the day, but as always youth did prevail and all of the participating teams battled the Wiley bass of this massive impoundment. When the wind and rain had all cleared, the team of Brian Pahl from Eureka High School and his partner Andrew Guilliams of Glendale High School teamed up to win the inaugural Missouri High School Fishing State Championship with a 5 bass limit that tipped the scales at 11.03 pounds. Record-Setting Field Registers for 2011 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing National Championship

SAN ANTONIO, Texas, May 11, 2011– Tournament organizers announced today that 191 teams representing 380 collegiate anglers are registered to compete in the 2011 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship. Because the field size for the event is capped at 300 anglers, a waiting list has been created to identify which anglers will fill the spots left vacant by registered anglers who are unable to make the trip.

This year’s event will feature an international field, including a team representing the Canadian Collegiate Bass Anglers as well as the defending national high school champions from The Bass Federation, all of whom will meet at Lake Lewisville, Texas on May 26 and 27 to decide the 2011 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing National Championship. The anglers competing for this prestigious championship title have earned the opportunity to represent their schools based on their tournament performances over the past year. Continue reading
