Marshall County sweeps Crab Orchard open

Marshall County had an impressive finishing line up in Crab Orchard this past weekend. Marshall County took 1st, 2nd, 3 rd & 5th place.

The first place team was Aidan Cox & James Gibbs with a weight of  14 lbs (Boat Captain Larry Anderson), 2nd place went to Cameron Lynn & Casey White (Boat Captain Sean Veirnum) with a weight of  3 lbs 15 oz  , 3rd place went to Chase Greer & Baily Napier(Boat captain Shane Greer) with a total weight of 3 lbs, 4th place went to Lauren Holshouser & Andy Nixon (Boat Captain Jeff Holshouser)from Anna/Jonesboro with 2 lbs 4 oz & rounding out the top  5 was MacKenzee Kemp & Shanae Robert  from Marshall County (Boat Captain Jeff Thomas) with a weight of 2lbs 2 oz.   Continue reading

Brother/Sister Duo of Bandys High School Wins North Carolina High School Fishing State Championship

March 17, 2012 – If experience is the greatest teacher, then the family fishing duo of Kristopher and Chelsey Queen from Bandy High School are well on their way in the world of tournament bass fishing!

The brother and sister team who traveled to Russellville, Arkansas last year and finished third in the prestigious High School Fishing World Finals, captured the 2012 North Carolina State High School Bass Fishing Championship Saturday with an incredible four fish weight of 21.80lbs!

The big sack was anchored by a 7.39lb kicker that Chelsea landed from the back of the boat on a spinner bait casting around High Point Lake’s fallen timber. Continue reading

Virginia High School Fishing State Championship Set For April 22

PONCA CITY, Okla. (Mar. 13, 2012) – The Bass Federation (TBF), in partnership with FLW Outdoors, and the Virginia Bass Federation announced it will host the 2012 Student Angler Federation (SAF) Virginia High School Fishing State Championship. The event will be Sunday, April 22 on Lake Gaston launching out of the Lake Gaston Americamps ramp near Bracey, Va. A unique element of this event is that it will follow the FLW Bass Fishing League event, held Saturday on Lake Gaston. Continue reading
