Practice makes perfect for Zellers and McWilliams as the duo wins the Indiana High School State Championship

After fishing in a host of Indiana TBF Junior events against each other Greg Zellers and Brody McWilliams teamed up to win the 2012 Indiana High School State Championship on Patoka Lake. The pair who hails from Winamac High School and Center Grove High School landed a huge 20lb 11oz. sack of fish. It was enough to best the second place team of Caleb Taylor and Sam Lentz from Eastside High School who also had a very respectable 15lbs 14 oz. Continue reading

Kansas High School Fishing State Championship Set For June 30

PONCA CITY, Okla. (June 4, 2012) – The Bass Federation (TBF), in partnership with FLW Outdoors, the Russell County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the TBF of Kansas announced it will host the 2012 Student Angler Federation (SAF) Kansas High School Fishing State Championship. The event will return to Wilson Lake for the second year, and be held Saturday, June 30 launching out of Wilson Lake State Park, Hell Creek Ramp in Wilson Lake, Kan.    Continue reading

Lincoln County Bass Bosses Host Tournament on Lake McConaughy, Neb

The Lincoln County Bass Bosses hosted their first tournament event of the year at Lake McConaughy, Nebraska on May 20th.  High-Skies and very little wind challenged the local high school SAF club with post-frontal conditions but a few nice smallmouth and largemouth bass were weighed in.

Six teams competed in the Lake McConaughy shootout.  All boats were launched at 8 am and returned at 1 pm.  Many new comers to the club attended, with one team of “underdogs” taking the lake by storm and placing 2nd.  But alas, the veterans of the club still held their ground, taking 1st and 3rd place.
