IMPORTANT UPDATE!!!
SAF received notification from the US Army Corps of Engineers that the Wilson lock maintenance at Florence, Alabama that was scheduled to be completed before the High School Fishing World Finals and the National Championship has been extended. So, from 6am to 4:30pm daily the entire month of June they will NOT be locking any traffic recreational nor commercial between Pickwick and Wilson during those hours.

Due to this news, which is beyond our control, we’ve had to make an adjustment from years past and NO locking out of Pickwick Lake will be allowed.

Just wanted to keep everyone informed so no one practices thinking they can lock through.

Check out the Updated Fact Sheet.

Also, here’s an updated list of Host Hotels for the event.
(Mention you’re with the SAF HSFWF & NC event and receive a discount on your stay.)

All National Championship qualified anglers MUST register for the High School Fishing World Finals!
We will pull National Championship qualified anglers from that entry list so you only have to register once.

Hatleberg and Stewart Win the Oregon High School State Championship on Tenmile Lakes

The Oregon High School Fishing State Championship was held May 7 on Tenmile Lake in Lakeside, Ore. The Thurston High School Colts team from Springfield, Ore., Gabe Hatleberg and Zane Steward, came out on top with a five fish limit weighing 15.22 pounds.

Fishing was good around the lake with lots of spawning fish biting in shallow water. Each of the teams said that they threw lots of different lures to catch bass and most teams were productive throwing some sort of soft plastic bait.

In second, was the McMinnville High School Grizzlies pair of Caden Slaughter and Kevin Sullivan with 13.61 pounds of largemouth bass. Third place team was from Banks High School in Banks, Ore.  Lane Olsen and Cole Hansen had a limit weighing 12.39 pounds. The final team bringing fish to the scales was Randy Ellis and Andrew Joffill from Corvallis High School with 7.74 pounds.  Thank you to all of the competitors, volunteers and team captains that helped us out during the event.
