Kansas High School Fishing State Championship Set For June 25

Ponca City, Okla. (March 14, 2011) – The Bass Federation (TBF), in partnership with FLW Outdoors, announced it will be hosting the inaugural Student Angler Federation Kansas High School Fishing State Championship, June 25 at Wilson Lake just outside of Russell, Kansas. The state championship is a two person team event for students in grades 9 -12. Registration for high school anglers and their “coach,” who will provide the boat they compete in, is online at HighSchoolFishing.org or by calling 580.765.9031. Registration is at 4pm on Friday, June 24 at the TBF tournament trailer, Wilson State Park, Hells Creek Ramp, with a mandatory rules briefing at 6pm. Marble Falls, TX SAF Club Holds Inaugural Tournament

What a great day!  Despite a WINDY, chilly and damp start – the team launched at 7:30 am with 6 boats and 11 student anglers.  One member had to pull out due to illness but know he will be back in the hunt!  Sun came out and winds decreased and it was GO BIG or GO HOME!   As a TEAM, the anglers brought in a healthy 47.9 pounds of bass to the weigh-in! Kimbrough and McClure Advance To High School Fishing Regional Championship

Ponca City, Okla. (Feb. 26, 2011) – Inaugural TBF High School Fishing State Championship Kicks Off with a Bang in Louisiana; Kimbrough, McClure Seize Titles

The Bass Federation’s Student Angler Federation, (SAF), and FLW Outdoors kicked off the 2011 SAF High School State Championship series today with the Louisiana High School Fishing State Championship on Caddo Lake near Bossier City, La.  High school anglers converged on Caddo Parrish to showcase their skills and vie for the titles of High School State Champions, sponsor merchandise and esteemed bragging rights among high school fishing’s elite.  The champions advance to the FLW/TBF High School Fishing Regional Championship to be held this fall, which includes travel stipends, use of a Ranger boat, and State Champion Jerseys.  The race was tight, with just ounces hailing one team triumphant.
