Decker and Carpenter Outdistance the Field to win the Colorado High School State bass Fishing Championship

Peter Decker and Trevor Carpenter of Pine Creek High School put together a winning pattern Saturday to win the Colorado Student Angler Federation High School State Bass Fishing Championship.

The winning team who are both seniors this year had a five fish limit that weighed 7 lbs and 13 oz. to claim the second annual event. “I am just ecstatic,” said Peter Decker after the win. “I put a lot of time and practice into this tournament and I am very happy that all of the hard work paid off.  Continue reading

Riles & Wilkinson Named 2012 Mississippi HS Fishing State Champs

Saturday, May 19th, 2012, Columbus, MS

Mississippi High School Students were invited to attend the 2nd annual TBF Student Angler Federation High School Open Championship that was held on the Tennessee Tom Big-Bee River, Columbus pool.  Students signed up via online registration @ highschoolfishing.org to compete in the event. Anglers were required to fish as as teams in a pick your partner format tournament.  Teams were limited to fish in the Columbus Pool. Continue reading

High School Fishing Gaining Popularity – Nebraska Game & Parks Commission Needs Your Help!

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission (NGPC) is committed to increasing opportunities for Nebraska youth to go fishing.  In 2010, we learned about The Bass Federation’s Student Angler Federation (SAF) and their ability to promote and sponsor bass fishing clubs and state, regional, and national high school fishing tournaments.  We at Game and Parks are excited about partnering with TBF in these efforts, but we need your help to make the program effective.
