Saturday, December 8th was the first tournament for the 2012-13 season for the Kaufman High School Fishing Team. Kaufman doubled its largest number competing in a tournament with over 26 entered. Steve Holland, who is the coach of the team said; “After looking at the large number of new recruits we decided to have an individual tournament pitting each member against each other. I decided not to have any other school present so I could really concentrate on just the Kaufman Team and see where each of the new members stacked up with our more experienced crew. When wind at Cedar Creek doesn’t blow the bass bite gets stingy. I was surprised of the few bass weighed, but I would have to rate the experience that each member received a 10 plus due to the fact the team had to bear down and concentrate for each single fish. This only makes you better competing in bass tournaments.” Continue reading
