SAF Texas High School State Championship sends four anglers home with $3,000 in scholarship funds!

IMG_7758It was an exciting day at Lake LBJ just outside of Marble Falls Texas Saturday morning as 66 boats would line up  to start the 2013 Texas High School State Championship! As the take-off numbers were called and the boats left one by one every student there was focused on claiming the top prize in this, the largest field of competitors ever assembled for the Texas High School State Championship!

Claiming both the overall title by a slim 2 ounces, as well as the big bass prize would be Colton Mitchell and Dallin Bishop. While they would come short of the 5 fish limit, their 3 fish sack was anchored by a monster big bass of 7 lbs. 11 oz. it was enough to push them to the top!  Their 3 fish tipped the scales at 15 lbs. and 13 oz. McNeil and Smith Moving Up The Ladder!

South Carolina State ChampionsClaim The Top Spot in the 2013 South Carolina High School Fishing State Championship!

After finishing second in the state championship last year the talented duo from Abbeville High School reached the pinnacle of success Saturday and won the 2013 SAF South Carolina High School Fishing State Championship on Lake Hartwell.

Carter McNeil and Tucker Smith brought in 16 LB 3 OZ bag of fish to win the event, despite thirty mile per-hour winds on the big lake. Continue reading

Airline High School Takes State in Louisiana

champsTake-off was delayed as intense showers and lightning storms hit the area Sunday morning on Caddo Lake. Nearly an hour passed before cloud-to-ground lightning strikes were verified clear by the National Weather Service and boats were released.  As boats filed through check-in one by one the rain continued to beat down; it was clear competitors were in for a hard fought win.
