2013 Marble Falls Fall Open Draws 46 Boats

1st Place - Tristan Riddle & Sterlyn Wood - San AngeloWe launched 46 boats for the 2013 Fall Open on Lake LBJ hosted by the Marble Falls HS Fishing Team.  It was an overcast morning on Saturday, Nov 9th but the teams were ready to go!

This High School Fishing event drew student anglers from over 18 different high schools in the Central Texas area from San Angelo to Austin to Houston.  Once again these tournaments are not possible without the help of our volunteer boat captains which may be a Dad, Uncle, Family Friend or in many cases, an adult angler who is volunteering his time and resources to spend a day fishing with our youth.  We are all blessed by such generous individuals. Maryville Rebels (TN) Bass Club 2013 Fall Fishing Event

Ten professional anglers each accompanied by two student anglers launched for a fun day of bass fishing and competition with the beautiful scenery of mountain lake in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. The lake and fall colors were the perfect backdrop for the youth bass fishing event as the anglers set out just after sunrise to catch a five bass limit per boat. (2 caught by the pro and a total of three caught by the kids) This task proved to be challenging and a true test of skill following a recent cold front and the dropping water levels of the reservoir. However the kids and the anglers brought fish to the scales. It was a great time on Douglas Lake for everyone. The adults that volunteered their time and boats enjoyed the event as much as the kids did. Smiling faces and big bass made some memories that will never fade.  Continue reading
