The second event of the North Carolina SAF High School Fishing Trail was held Saturday April 16th at Badin Lake. The morning started with cool temperatures and a brisk northeast wind.
For the second straight time the team of Jake Frye and Vance Hite won the event with a weight of 15.15 pounds. Second place was the team of Tyler Jones and Trey Oliver with 15.3 pounds. Third place went to the team of Bailey Albertson and Luke Brown with 13.0 pounds of bass.
The Ardent Reels big bass award went to Bailey Albertson with a bass weighing in at 5.7 pounds. The anglers and guest enjoyed a hot dog meal after the weigh-in. And to Crystal, Miss Alex Jay and The Backwoods BassBoys for their help at weigh-in.
The next and final event of the 2016 trail has been rescheduled from May 7 to Saturday April 30th at Lake Norman, Pinnacle Landing at 6:30 a.m. The highest placing team in points going to the SAF High School World Finals this summer at Pickwick Lake will win a fund to help with expenses.
