The 2022 Tri-state (MD, DE, NJ) Championship was held last weekend on the Potomac River in Woodbridge, VA. The event was hosted by the Virginia Bass Federation.
At the end of the day the Free State Bass team of Trey and Beau Richardson brought in three pretty fish topping 11-02 for the win. In 2nd place was Kyle Gilson and Ty Crispin, New Breed Bassers, with 9-10. Bass Legends, Charles Paolino and Jerry Hodge III took 3rd place with 2-12.
Each contestant went home with a bag full of custom hand painted crankbaits from the Virginia TBF Vice President. The boat captains were each given handmade spinnerbaits from one of the VA Region Directors. And for excitement one of the boat Captains from Maryland buried a treble hook to the bone in his finger. One of the VA Region Directors cleanly executed the removal using the string pull in the opposite direction of entry.
All in all, a good day for the Anglers. The Student Angler Federation would like to thank the VA Bass Federation for volunteering to run this event.
