FAN HSF will open the 2017/18 season with The Toyota Cedar Park Lake Travis Tundra Take Down – September 30 at Jones Brothers Park

We are super excited to launch the 2017-18 season with our dedicated and loyal sponsors of many years, plus new to the FAN Family this year Toyota of Cedar Park. This awesome family of FAN supporters enables us to continue to offer the FAN Scholarship awards.
New for the 2017-18 season we are honored to announce the Toyota of Cedar Park Angler of the Year Scholarship Award plus the Berkley Select Angler of the year award.  So, in addition to the coveted Berkley Select Angler Award we will award $2000 to the AOY team at the Chase for the Champion Banquet.

Registration Meeting September 20th
To officially launch the season and the partnership, Toyota of Cedar Park is hosting a FAN Registration event September 20th from 6:30 – 8PM.  We will go over the new ONLINE registration and payment site, plus answer any questions. You can also pick up your membership bag.
FAN members will be entered into a drawing for a new Abu Garcia Revo ALX ($250 value), a Kistler KLX Fishing Rod ($220 Value) and much more.

Check in will start at 5:30am, there will be a boat safety check and we will release boats in numerical order at safe light
Weigh in will be at 2PM– You must be checked in at the official check station by 2PM or will be counted late.
 
Who is eligible?

Registration is open to all 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade students. The entry fee for each tournament is $40 a boat with no more than two team members and each team member must be a TBF Student Angler Federation (SAF) member. In addition to the one time FAN High School Fishing Series Membership of $10.00 per individual. Contestants must also have the signature of a parent or legal guardian in the provided space on the liability form.

All anglers must register by September 27th
Registration deadline will be the Wednesday prior to the tournament via online registration and payment only.  Late registrations may be considered Saturday for complete teams only and will be added to bottom of the boat launch sequence. Wahoo’s Mueting, Spencer Win Nebraska High School Fishing State Championship

LINCOLN, Neb. – Mike Mueting and Nick Spencer of Wahoo’s Star City team caught a five-fish limit weighing 15.56 pounds to capture SAF’s Nebraska High School Fishing State Championship. The event took place July 22 at Merritt Reservoir State Recreation Area.

Cole Hall and Keegan Oettinger of North Platte’s Lincoln County Bass Bosses took second place with five fish weighing 14.45 pounds. They also caught the tournament’s biggest fish at 4.85 pounds. Colton Kelle and Jarrett Kmiecik of Wahoo’s Star City caught five fish weighing 13.76 pounds for third place.

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and The Bass Federation’s, Student Angler Federation, were hosts. Thirty teams competed in this fifth annual TBF – SAF event. Each team could weigh in a maximum of five bass, with a minimum length limit of 15 inches.

2017 High School World Finals, Bedford & Brown Top Record Field with Record Prizes

A record field of 332 North American teams from 33 states and Canada participated in the 2017 High School Fishing World Finals in Florence Alabama’s Pickwick Lake. After four grueling days of competition and cuts befitting a world championship event, Jon David Bedford and Walker Brown from Lawrence County High School in Tennessee won the event and their choice of scholarships prizes.  In total multiple teams from this event are offered scholarships in total during the week more than 170,000 in scholarships and prizes were awarded in this no entry fee event.

Two $24,000 scholarships were awarded by Bethel University, 2- $20,000 scholarship were awarded by Bacone College, 2- additional $20,000 scholarships are offered by Bacone to the top 2 female anglers in the group, FLW awarded $10,000 scholarships and TBF awarded 18,000 in scholarships. In addition every day of the four day event at least five thousands dollars of prizes were awarded and every senior (more than 130) was given a graduation gift of a free rod from Favorite Fishing.

All 31 of the final teams were able to pick prizes including; Gift cards from Cabelas, Saint Croix Rods, Big Screen TVs’, Laptop computers, Go Pros, kayak’s, and other items. Top Boat Captains were also rewarded with Lowrance HDS 7 unit, Motorguide trolling motors, Evinrude props Cablea’s gifts cards and more.  Everyone of the 664 anglers in attendance was given something during the week by the event sponsors
