July 22, 2011 – The heat wave continued today here at Lake Dardanelle. The pool levels fluctuated a little here on the Arkansas River system and it seemed to help a lot of our high school teams today.

Yesterday’s second place team Cody and Trevor Jeffers of BCCC (Barnwell County Career Center) Youth Bass Team in Barnwell, SC, our only team from South Carolina, jumped into first today with just a few ounce lead. They caught another 5 bass limit that weighed 10 lbs 1 oz, making their two-day cumulative weight 24 lbs 3 oz. “If we won this tournament, this might be our only chance to go to college by getting this 4 year scholarship with Bethel University. 2011 High School Fishing World Finals Kicks Off with a Bang on Lake Dardanelle; Local Angers Meyer and Henderson Take the Lead

Russellville, AR – Consistent weather conditions this week left some high school anglers scratching their heads after day one of the second annual High School Fishing World Finals on Lake Dardanelle in sunny Russellville, Arkansas today.  With air and water temperatures camping in the 90’s, most anglers planned on a combination of shallow and deep water techniques to catch a limit of bass.  Several teams reported productive practice days; however, many didn’t get the key bites they were relying on today.   A few local teams shined, as well as, reigning champions, Kyle Raymer and Ethan Snyder who have kept the chance of a repeat alive by finishing in sixth just a few pounds away.  There’s a lot on the line for these high school anglers, the race is tight and the drive strong, tomorrow 7 teams will advance to the final round of the 2011 High School Fishing World Finals on Lake Dardanelle in Russellville, Ark. Wisconsin and Iowa High School Fishing State Championship Set for August 27

Ponca City, Okla. (July 15, 2011) – The Bass Federation (TBF), in partnership with FLW Outdoors, announced it will be hosting the inaugural Student Angler Federation Wisconsin and Iowa High School Fishing State Championship Saturday, August 27 at St. Feriole Island Marina Boat Launch, in Prairie du Chien, Wisc.  The state championship is a two person team event for students in grades 9-12. Registration for high school anglers and their “coach,” who will provide the boat they compete in, is open online at HighSchoolFishing.org or by calling 580.765.9031. Check-in begins at 5pm on Friday, August 26 at the Cabelas in Prairie du Chien, Wisc.  A mandatory rules briefing will follow at 7pm.
