FAN High School Fishing Series Kicks off on Lake Buchanan September 24

2016-2017 Season Opener and First of Three Qualifying Events for the 2017 Chase for the Champions Tournament Begins September 24

In less than a month the season opener and the first of three qualifying events for the 2017 Chase for the Champions tournament is underway, with over $6,000 in scholarships and prizes in addition to the Berkley Select Angler of the Year every tournament will be vital.
“We are excited to bring the FAN High School Fishing Series to Lake Buchanan this year,” Director of High School Fishing, Scott Anderson, stated. “With the lake at near full capacity this 22,000 surface acre lake is prime to produce some great fishing for our student anglers.”

Where-
Llano County Park
Located in the southwest corner of the lake, well protected from the wind. From Austin, take Texas 71 west to Marble Falls, turn north on US 281 and west on FM 1431. Follow road to FM 261, turn left and continue approximately half a mile to the park entrance on your right.

When-
Check in will start at 5:30am, there will be a boat safety check and we will release boats in numerical order at safe light
Weigh in will be at 2PM– You must be checked in at the dock by 2PM or will be counted late.

Who is eligible?
Registration is open to all 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade students. The entry fee for each tournament is $40 a boat with no more than two team members and each team member must be a TBF Student Angler Federation (SAF) member. In addition to the one time FAN High School Fishing Series Membership of $10.00 per individual. Contestants must also have the signature of a parent or legal guardian in the provided space on the liability form.

How to Register-

Must Register by September 21st
Registration deadline will be the Wednesday prior to the tournament via online registration only.  Late registrations will be accepted Saturday for complete teams only and will be added to bottom of the boat launch sequence. Top finishing anglers will win tournament quality prizes from Abu Garcia, Berkley, and Havoc, in addition to a big bass award provided by Kistler Rods. OVER $1,200 in prizes.

Captains will also be recognized with the Academy Captains Awards including a $50 Academy gift card plus an Academy Magellan Co-Branded Fishing Shirt, plus a drawing from Berkley and SuperNova.
