MFHS Fishing Team hosted a Club Tournament on Lake Marble Falls on Saturday, March 3rd with 24 student anglers entered on 12 boats. Travis Pest Control and Joni Farley provided a Fried Chicken lunch for all the anglers and captains. We had 3 more students from the Bertram and Marble Falls area join so we are now at 30 members of the MFHS Fishing Club (SAF). We are so excited about our growth from 6 to 30 in just one year!
We will be competing in the Student Angler Federation (SAF) Texas State Championship on March 24-25 located on Lake Lavon near Allen, TX north of Dallas. It is a 2-man team competition and we will need to provide our own boats and captains to enter. We are in critical need of as many volunteer boat captains who can travel up to Allen, TX for this tournament. Pre-fishing is Saturday 3/24 and the competition is Sunday, 3/25. For those who are able, we would like to travel up on Friday night, 3/23. We will provide lodging and fuel stipends for the trip.
MFHS Fishing Team will also be entering the Texas State High School Bass Championship on Lake Ray Hubbard on April 27-28, so we will again be in need of volunteer Boat Captains for that event as well.
