The “BACK TO SCHOOL BASS BLAST” was fantastic! We got the perfect break in weather and launched 14 boats and 26 student anglers on Lake Marble Falls Saturday morning, Sept 15th. MANY, MANY THANKS to the Stripling family for Breakfast goodies and gatorade and also to the Childress family for pizza and yummy cookies at the weigh-in. We are so lucky to have supportive parents/families and also a terrific group of volunteer BOAT CAPTAINS!
19 of the 26 anglers came to the weigh-in and as a team we had 35 bass weighed for a total of 59.6 lbs! The top three winners were:
1st Place – Austin Ellis, 5 fish – 8.0 lbs
2nd Place – Lyle Schmidt, 2 fish – 5.1 lbs and BIG BASS @ 3.69 lbs
3rd Place – Shilo Nelson, 4 fish – 5.02 lbs
This starts a new Angler of the Year (AOY) contest for 2012-13. We announced the 2011-12 AOY at the club meeting and the plaque at the High School will have Austin Ellis added and returned to the school.
We continue to grow as a SAF High School Fishing Club and want to again thank our Sponsors and the Marble Falls and surrounding communities for the wonderful support. We also are working hard to get the SAF Texas State Championship to our area so want to reach out to our business leaders to help make this a reality.
