Whitman and Plante win Vermont State Championship in Lake Champlain

It was a picture perfect day with bright skies and temps in the 80s. The fishing was also great with the top teams catching empressive bags of smallmouth. The Big bite window was the first hour with most of the biggest fish weighed in were on a morning top water bite. Harrison Whitman and Ethan Plante of champlain valley union taking the win by mere ozs over the second place team of Parker Demeritt and Charlie Abell of the milton/colchester team. In the 3rd spot the team from Harwood Union/ U32 came in with a solid 5 fish limit. All the teams agreed that you wanted to be on your best stuff first thing in the morning to get the fish to win.  A huge thank you to the SAF/TBF team for providing trophies and the opportunities to make this happen.
