Ware and Collins Win Missouri State Championship on Table Rock Lake

The Willard High School Tigers team of Austin Ware and Jacob Collins won the Missouri High School Fishing State Championship event on Table Rock Lake at Kimberling City this past weekend.  Their 12.9 pound limit was anchored by the Lew’s Big Bass of the day, a nice 3.8 lunker.  The pair each received a Lew’s Reel for their big catch.

In second place was the Missouri SAF team of Douglas Guidorzi and Liam Cutright who turned in 9.1 pounds.  Finishing in third place was Trey Schroeder and Grant Nisbet with 6.7 pounds.  Seth Croxton and Shawn O’Daniel finished in fourth with 5.1 pounds.  Johnny and Tony Deluca finished fifth with 4.8 pounds.

Spinnerbaits, crankbaits, swimbaits and jigs were how most of the anglers caught fish; some were fishing around docks while others were out in deeper water fishing submerged trees and brush in 15-25 feet of water.
