THE BATTLE ON BALBOA

winnersFountain Lake’s Cobra Bass Club and the Jessieville Bass Fishing Club fished their second annual high school tournament Saturday April 27, 2013 on Lake Balboa in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. We had a break in the weather with a thunderstorm passing through 45 minutes before take-off and another 30 minutes after we completed weigh-in.

Thirty seven student anglers fished with thirteen bringing in a 3 bass limit. The students competed against each other for individual 1st, 2nd , 3rd , big bass and club awards. Each student angler was allowed to keep up to 3 bass with a minimum length of 12 inches. There were plenty of bass caught with thirteen 3 bass limits and a total of 66 bass (65 alive) brought in.

Bringing in a 3 bass limit with a weight of 6.3 lbs. was Brady Grey with the Jessieville club winning 1st place individual.

The second place individual was Drake Jester from Cobra Bass Club with 3 bass weighting 5.64 lbs.

Coming in third with 3 bass weighting 5.469 lbs was Carson Chandler from Cobra Bass Club.

HunterHunter Speers with the Jessieville club won big bass honors with a 3.13 lb bass.

Winner of the club trophy was determined by the total net weight of the 16 students on the Jessieville team verses the top 16 based Angler of the Year points from the Cobra Bass Club. Cobra Bass Club won with a net weight of 49.432 lbs. The series is now even with one win for each club.

A great time was had by all and the anglers are ready for next year.
