Franklin County High School Wins Mississippi SAF State Championship

The dynamic duo of Conner Quin and Bryce White brought five Ross Barnett Reservoir beauties to the Student Angler Federation scales on Sunday that weighed 14lbs. 5oz to win the 2014 Mississippi SAF State Championship.

The pair will advance on to the Southern Conference Regional event in October with a chance to once again advance on to the TBF/FLW High School National Championship and a $10,000 scholarship prize.

All of the contestants in the event also qualified for the High School Fishing World Finals  on Lake Dardenelle in Russellville, Arkansas July 14th through the 19th by virtue of their participation in this event and their SAF membership.

Conner McNabb and Ryan Ware of Magnolia Heights were right behind them in the standings securing the runner-up spot with a solid five bass limit the weighed in at 12lbs 10 oz. They edged out Ty Cox and Seth Shettles who also brought a full limit of five that weighed 11lbs 15oz to the Tommy’s Trading Post weigh-in site.

The SAF state Championship series continues this week with the Georgia SAF State Championship on Lake Lanier.
