The 3rd and final event for the 2016 NCHSFT was held Saturday, April 30 at Lake Norman. Lake Norman bass were biting as all teams weighed in five bass limits, but size was lacking.
First place went to the Denali Rods and Ardent Reels Backwoods BassBoys team of Bailey Albertson and Luke Brown with a total of 9.12 lbs. Luke stated he was happy to show Bailey how to catch a bass.
Second place went to Jake Frye and Vance Hite with 9.8 lbs. fishing out of a brand new Ranger Z118 powered by Evinrude, which was delivered on Friday evening. Frye and Vance also won the points championship along with a fund set aside to help with expenses to fish the SAF High School Fishing World Finals this June on Pickwick Lake in Alabama. It was a great way to break in a new Ranger.
Thanks goes to the Backwoods BassBoys high school fishing club and Miss Alex, Crystal, Beth and Dee for going out of their way to help with these events.
