Crazy cool front across the southern regions slows the bite in Florida

The 2025 season is in full swing and Florida High School anglers turned out for a shot at advancement to the 16th Annual High School Fishing World Finals and National Championship to be held in the most central part of the US this year. Right near the crossroads of America in Grove, Oklahoma on Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees June 24th-28th.                                             

The Co-ed Team of Hailey Hardaway and Ethan Grimsley came to the scales bringing 16 pounds and 10 ounces the Bartow Yellow Jacket team had 5 solid fish all alive. The first-place team secured a qualifying berth to Grove, Oklahoma for their efforts on the water.

Second Place team Skyler High and partner Mathew Clark, also representing the Bartow Yellow Jackets had a great 5 fish limit weighing in at 15 pounds and 6 ounces securing the team with a National Berth and the second-place honors.

Third Place team also from Bartow High School Yellow Jackets was Bryce Kelly partnered with Jayden Roth. Not only did this team come in third with 15 pounds even they also had a 6-pound 8-ounce big bass of the tournament.
