The Bullard Panthers Fishing Club will be holding a benefit tournament on April 27 for a local Bullard family to help with medical expenses for their daughter, Kaylee Graves. Kaylee has had to undergo several heart procedures with more scheduled in the future. “Bullard is one of those small East Texas communities where everybody knows everybody. And to be able to get the chance to step in and offer some assistance to help one of our own in the community, it really is a no-brainer. Every little bit helps and we are excited to be able to lend a helping hand to a very deserving family. Plus, we get to promote high school fishing as well. It’s a win-win situation. And I can’t thank American State Bank enough for stepping in to sponsor the event. We couldn’t do this without their assistance”, stated Tim Haugh, advisor for the Bullard Panthers Fishing Club.
The tournament will be a team event for current high school students, grades 9-12. You do not have to be a member of TBF or SAF to enter. There will be a $40 per team entry fee with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the Graves’ family to help with medical expenses. Plaques will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places and one plaque will be awarded to the student who brings in the big bass of the tournament. There will also be a plaque awarded for the “Overall Team Champion”. The overall team champion will be decided on the combined top three weights from each school entered. Door prizes will be given away at weigh-in and the teams will be treated to hot dogs, chips and drinks as they arrive to weigh-in.
Tournament hours will be: launch at safe light and weigh-in will begin at 3 pm. There will be flights assigned, with 25 boats per flight.
Members from East Texas Bass Association will be assisting with the registration and at weigh-in.
