It was a crisp 34 degrees on Saturday morning when sun broke on the horizon of Lake LBJ and we had 28 boats with 56 student anglers representing 5 High Schools in the Central Texas area – Florence, Leander Rouse, Hyde Park, Lake Travis and our host team Marble Falls. We were so fortunate to have the support from JP Wilson (Police Chief) and the Granite Shoals Police Dept who roped off Blue Briar Park and ramp for only our event. It proved to be a game changer with another adult tournament on Lake LBJ that had 138 boats!
After the safety and rules briefing, the 2-angler teams and boat captains were were off! It had warmed up to 60 degrees when the first boats were back for the weigh-in at 2:00. It proved to be a challenging day for some of our visiting teams but they all enjoyed the glorious weather and the chance to spend time on LBJ. Lunch was provided by JP and Angela Wilson – thank you all so much!
