Torok and Fugate from Lake City Idaho Advance to the High School National Championship

High School Fishing LogoLoren Torok and Kyler Fugate from the Lake City Bass club in Utah claimed the final spot in the TBF/FLW High School National Championship with a five fish limit that weighed in at 19lb 9oz to win the Western Conference Regional Championship at Clear Lake in California. The winning sack was anchored by a 4lb 14oz toad that propelled the pair to the prestigious event, which will be held in April with the TBF adult National Championship. The pair will join 10 other teams from across the country that will be trying to capture National Championship bragging rights and a $10,000 scholarship to the school of their choice.

Finishing second with a fine effort was the team of Ronnie Rivers and Roy Asi from the Delta Teen Angler team who also had a five fish limit that weighed in at 15lb 4oz to claim the runner-up spot.

Rounding out the top three was the team of Brandon Devincenzi and Josh Shapland from Liberty HS/East Co Bass club who weighed in a limit that tipped the scales at 10lbs even.

The Western Conference Regional brought together teams from across the western half of the United States who had qualified from their respective state championships to the Konocti Resort in Lakeport, Calif. The event had originally been scheduled for the middle of September but had to be delayed due to the wildfires, which wreaked havoc on the area in September.
