INSHORE FISHING ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES NEW HIGH SCHOOL SALTWATER CHAMPIONSHIP
IFA to partner with The Student Angler Federation on groundbreaking event
MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. (August 28, 2014) – The Inshore Fishing Association (IFA) has joined with the Student Angler Federation (SAF) to develop the first ever High School Saltwater Championship. The inaugural event, which features a 2-person team format for students in grades 9-12, will take place Sunday, October 19th as part of the Cabela’s IFA Redfish Tour Championship in Houma, Louisiana.
Registration for interested student anglers and their coach, who will be responsible for providing the boat they compete in, is online at HighSchoolFishing.org.
“The new High School Saltwater Championship is going to be a phenomenal event and a terrific way to get young anglers involved with inshore fishing,” said IFA Marketing Director Bart Schad. “We’ve also got the perfect partners in the Student Angler Federation. They are without a doubt the leader in high school and youth fishing nationwide.”
“Our goal is to try and give every single high school student in the country the opportunity to get involved with the great sport of fishing,” said SAF National Youth Director Mark Gintert. “The partnership with the IFA allows us to reach beyond our freshwater roots and expand the reach of our platform. We are thrilled to help bring this event to life.”
The IFA highly encourages all interested anglers and teams to pre-register online or by phone in advance to avoid late registration fees. Students and parents can go online to HighSchoolFishing.org for details on the Student Angler Federation and sign up for the upcoming event.
